The President of India’s Residence - Rashtrapati Niwas, formerly known as the Viceregal Lodge, is an iconic histori cal landmark situated in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. This magnificent structure, designed by British architect Henry Irwin, showcases a unique blend of Jacobethan architec ture and English Renaissance influences.
Originally con — BA structed as the residence of the British Viceroy of India ZI between 1880 and 1888, the lodge has a rich history that reflects the era of colonial rule in India. Today, it serves not only as the official residence of the President of India but also as a museum housing ancient artifacts and photo graphs that provide a glimpse into the past.
The estate surrounding Rashtrapati Niwas spans 110 acres and is adorned with lush gardens and pristine landscapes, making it an ideal venue for various events and gatherings. The interiors are characterized by exquisite woodwork, featuring teak imported from Burma and complemented by local cedar and walnut.
This majestic site serves as a back drop for significant events, both ceremonial and cultural, drawing visitors and dignitaries alike to experience its gran deur and historical significance. About the Install
J 5B The installation at the Rashtrapati Niwas was designed to enhance the audio § - experience for a variety of events within this iconic venue. The venue required a Try sound system that could meet the high expectations of such a prestigious location while offering flexibility for diverse functions, ranging from formal gatherings to outdoor celebrations.
This adaptability was essential to ensure that every event, regardless of size, could be executed with exceptional professionalism and quali ty. Integrating modern audio technology into a historically significant building required careful planning to achieve optimal acoustics while maintaining the aes thetic and architectural integrity of Rashtrapati Niwas.
The installation team relied on their expertise to seamlessly blend technology with the venue's unique charac teristics, ensuring the sound system delivered outstanding performance without compromising its heritage.
To meet these objectives, the team selected a suite of high-performance products. The Octa 82H, a 12" active loudspeaker with 2000W power, was chosen for its powerful sound, ideal for large gatherings.
The Alpha Source 408 were also chosen for additional clarity. The Studio Mix 16.2 DFX, a 16-frame compact ana logue mixing desk with dual FX, provided effortless control and customization for various events.
The OD1000 - 810, an 8-in, 8-out DSP Dante processor, enabled flexible audio routing and processing. Additionally, the OS 18 adjustable cardioid gooseneck microphone and OS - 42B gooseneck base with a switch were installed to ensure clear audio capture, com plemented by the O 5D high-performance vocal microphone.
The Q500 .1R + 92H true diversity in-ear reference monitoring system added a professional touch, guaranteeing precision in sound monitoring. Together, these products created a audio environment that elevated the experience at the Rashtrapati Niwas.
