BHUBANESWAR DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY Chooses British Acoustics as their Sound Partner
About the Site
Babasaheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar Bus Terminal or Baramunda ISBT or Baramunda Bus Stand is a hi-tech bus stand in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The project is implemented by the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) over 15.5 acres of land at a cost of ₹180 crores. Once fully operational, the Baramunda ISBT will become the largest bus terminal in Odisha.
About the Install
The installation team encountered a diverse array of technical intricacies while addressing the requirements of the venue within the expansive premises. Central among these complexities was the seamless integration of a comprehensive Public Address/Voice Alarm (PA/VA) system throughout the sprawling office complex, spanning multiple zones while ensuring crystal-clear communication amidst varying ambient noise levels. Additionally, the implementation of custom software for automated bus tracking and announcement prioritization posed formidable technical hurdles demanding innovative solutions.
To address these hurdles, a meticulously curated selection of state-of-the-art audiovisual products was deployed, with British Acoustics products leading the charge
The PA Linux server housed recorded announcements, which were retrieved through the sound card and processed for priority in the DSP. A custom software, facilitated automated bus tracking within a 5 km radius via satellite. Once a bus approached a specific distance, the software automatically triggered announcements and bay assignments.
In total, there were five zones, with six different scenes created to ensure all calls were appropriately managed.
The VX 110TW loudspeakers, totaling 50 units, are bolstered by advanced Digital Signal Processing (DSP) support and powered by British Acoustics (BA) amplifiers. This ensures seamless integration and optimal performance, guaranteeing clear and intelligible announcements across the Baramunda Bus Station complex.
BA VX 110TW
