ABOUT THE INSTALL :
The Romeo Lane project was a challenging one at the design front. An extremely large open air space, with a walkway spanning nearly 300m connecting 5 different nightclub zones. The systems had to be deigned to deliver high SPL levels, maintain zonal boundaries and be easily adaptable to the many scenarios presented by the club administration and the environment. The proximity to the sea meant only marine grade cabinets could last and the rapid speed at which winds blew meant distribution and threshold levels needed better maintaining.
The British Acoustics System was chosen for its ability to deliver high-quality sound with directivity. The newly launched Alpha Series was put to task in its Marine variant. The overall sound system at Romeo Lane includes a combination of over 50 British Acoustics ‘Alpha 412 WR’, and ‘X10W’ loud-speakers, combined with 18 Subwoofers from the British Acoustics Alpha 418 & 428. The entire system is powered by 20 British Acoustics ‘X series high-performance amplifiers. The system was zoned and managed using 56 channels of the DSP with OSL’s OD-1000 16-IO providing a dante based 16 in/out backend to the system.
